The following websites offer useful information on preparing for testing required by many US universities, what to expect from your US educational experience, etc. These sites are illustrative only, and hundreds of additional Internet resources are available to help international scholars prepare for their studies in the US.

 

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) links:

 

ETS: A website on the TOEFL by Educational Testing Services (ETS, Inc.). The site providers an overview of the test and offers suggestions for preparing for the test. http://www.ets.org/toefl/. A related site, toeflpractice.ets.org, offer practice tests for a modest fee.

 

English-Test Net: Offers on-line sample tests for TOEFL. http://www.english-test.net/toefl/

 

Test Magic: This website offers a number of on-line practice tests for TOEFL takers as well as helpful hints on preparing for the test. http://www.testmagic.com/Knowledge_Base/TOEFL/Structure/index.htm

GRE Guide: The GRE guide offers information on prepping for the test as well as free on-line practice tests and resources. http://www.greguide.com/

Syvum: The Syvum website contains interactive on-line practice tests for the GRE as well as a discussion forum for those preparing to take the GRE. http://www.syvum.com/gre/
